ZooTeen Volunteers

●13 years or older
●Attend orientation and training day (dates provided below)
●Provide own transportation to & from the zoo
●Maintain a positive attitude & have a willingness to help with all activities assigned
●Able to work as a team and independently
●Submit a completed application & one letter of recommendation
●Submit a background check application
●Able to commit 60 hours of volunteering between May-August
●Ability to commit to 1 volunteer shift per week during summer
– Exceptions can be made if approved ahead of time


    Possible ZooTeen Duties:
    ●Assist with Zoo Summer Camp in June and July
    ●Help with special events, games and crafts
    ●Assist with tasks around the zoo including cleaning, sweeping paths & emptying trash cans
    ●Greet visitors, talk to the public about animals throughout the zoo, conduct visitor surveys, etc.
    ●Learn about zoo history and its animals
    ●Complete tasks and training materials as assigned (all materials will be provided)


    Important Dates: 

    • Tuesday, May 14th from 6pm-7:30pm
      Parent & Teen Orientation inside the Zoo’s Visitor Center (teen and one parent/guardian must attend)
    • Saturday, May 18th from 9am-3pm
      ZooTeen Training Day (teens only)
