April 26, 2008 was Opening Day at Roosevelt Park Zoo.  Though we had cool weather, the zoo was well attended by many patrons and their families.  Most of the animals were on display except for those who cannot tolerate the cool weather such as tropical birds, primates and other African species. New animals at the zoo also made their debuts; most notably, the Japanese Serows, a goat species from Japan.  Our hours of operation are 10am - 6pm daily throughout the month of May.  Admission is $6.00 for adults (13 years of age and up), $3 for children ages 4-12, and children under the age of 3 are free.
