Interesting Facts:
  • This is a bird of prey, which means it hunts and feeds on other birds, small mammals, snakes, fish and insects.
  • Their eyesight is two - three times better than man's and they have powerful wings and strong, hooked beaks.
  • The Golden Eagle builds its nest, called an aerie, on a rocky crag or in a very tall tree.
  • Each year, an eagle will return to the nest it had the previous year.
  • The female is larger than the male.
