Found in Wild: Southeastern sections of United States. Size and Description: Alligators can grow to be 18 feet long. They have wide, flat heads with broad, round noses. A crocodile's head is long and triangular.

Interesting Facts:
- Alligators are reptiles, which means:
-they are ectothermic which means they do not produce their own body heat -they have scaly skin -they lay eggs -they breathe with lungs - Legs and feet allow them to walk on land and their powerful tails aid in swimming.
- They sun themselves to keep warm and cool off by slipping into the water.
