Roosevelt Park Zoo currently houses over 89 different species comprising over 200 individual animals. We have a wide variety of species which include the rare Amur Leopard and Japanese Serow to tall Reticulated Giraffes and small Lemur Frogs and of course, the very popular and playful African Black-footed Penguin and North American River Otter.
Roosevelt Park Zoo is an AZA accredited zoo that participates in conservation programs such as SSP (Species Survival Plan) and PMP (Population Management Plan). These programs are designed is to ensure the survival of selected wildlife species through captive bred programs.
